Shiota Chiharu: The Soul Trembles

This is the exhibition I went to at Taipei Fine Arts Museum during the summer. Shiota Chiharu is a Japanese artist that utilizes black and red threads as her main art mediums. By filling up the entire room with entangled threads and placing objects within the large-scale installations, she aims to express the complexity of connections between people and memories, souls, and paths. The arrangements of shoes, suitcases, boats, dresses, scorched pianos, and chairs embody unique recollections that are unique to each and every one of us.
