“Flye Lyfe”: A Play on Pop Culture

This summer, I stumbled upon artist PJ O’Rourke ii’s pop up shop on Broadway. His designs caught my eye as they twist iconic images and logos, such as the New York Lottery sign, and update them with modern and often satirical features. This image displays one of these designs, his play on the infamous image of a Breakfast at Tiffany’s Audrey Hepburn. He puts a modern twist on the original image, where instead of being depicted with a long cigarette holder, Hepburn holds up a selfie stick, poking fun at this generation’s social media habits. I found his work humorous and eye-catching in its simple and graphic style. Check out more on his Instagram or website.
