Tadao Ando is my father’s favorite architect. Since my father is an interior designer, he is obsessed with unique materials, colors, layouts, and arrangements of objects and shapes in both interior and open spaces. Just like interior design, architecture is also an expression of abstraction, but in large-scale, 3D places. Tadao Ando is a Japanese architect that’s the first to utilize mainly architectural concrete, or fair-faced concrete, in his projects. This special building material radiates the elegance of simplicity and strengthens the raw power of its bold shape and gray colors. All of his projects, including buildings, churches, museums, and installations are famous tourist sites across the world.
