A Perfectly Useless Afternoon & the Subjectivity of Good Design

I’ve just recently stumbled upon the watch design by Mr. Jones Watches and illustrator Kristof Devos titled “A perfectly useless afternoon”. The completely atypical watch face design is still completely functional. The visual of a woman relaxing in a pool still tells time all the same: her leg points to the hour and the floating duck serves as the minute hand. This design immediately reminded me of our conversation in class where we discussed the subjectivity of design and how what one person may consider “bad design”, another may fall in love with.
