Penn Shield

Talking about icons of companies in class made me think about Penn’s logos, specifically the Penn Shield that was created in 1932. Its main symbolic elements are the open books, representing learning, the dolphin, taken from Benjamin Franklin’s coat of arms, and the three plates, taken from the Penn family’s coat of arms.
