David McCandless is a data journalist who turns data sets into visualizations that uncovers connections and patterns that were previously not found. His approach to dissecting large, complex data is turning them into a good design that can be interpreted by viewers in a way that tells a story. McCandless has several data visualizations to this day. In his work regarding the world’s food, I found that he took an interesting approach to represent the data and combine it with all the numbers and statistics. I thought about this when doing the data+object project, as I had to represent my data as art and combine it in an appealing way.
