The Water Tank Project was launched during summer 2014 aimed to bring awareness to global water issues through art. The project aimed to transform New York City’s skyline by painting this artwork on rooftop water tanks. While the art was being done up there, action was being made on the ground to inspire fresh views on this issue. This included public tours, educational programs, and social media activities. I thought this fit very well into the theme of public art, as it addresses a prevalent issue in an effective manner—the visual depiction on the literal water tanks is complementary.
