Collaborative Practices

Kelly Anna, a UK-based illustrator, recently collaborated with Bloomingdales their rotating pop-up shop, The Carousel, to launch a series of clothing items that are both economically friendly and fashionable. I find it interesting to see big and established brands reaching out to smaller, freelance artists to help them achieve their stylistic goals. Such collaborations of ideas challenge the pre-established power structures that inevitably exist in the creative industry, and allow for a more inclusive culture of creation.
