Artist: Caroline Armijo

As we have been talking about public art proposals, here is one I found interesting. The artist has already received a grant for her proposal to use coal ash to form the lilies in a field that she envisions, using the grimy and undesirable material to fill casts and highlight the problem to the public of the coal ash while paying homage to the history of the coal industry and the historical figures in the area.

Obviously, the work has not been done so there is no image or name to show, but the project is estimated to take around 2.5 years, so keep an eye out for it when the time comes.
